Timberman posted this on the old Board. Hoping that there will ultimately be a positive outcome I have pulled it across to the excellent new Forum!.........
"STEAM FAIR FM - UPDATE FROM MARTIN OLIVER
Following our notice yesterday, I would like to thank everyone for their replies. Clearly, by the number of replies and comments received there is overwhelming support for the Radio Station at the GDSF.
Certainly I think the Steam Fair management did not realise how popular Steam Fair FM is and as such I feel it is only right to re-open negotiations with Patrick Heeley of Event Radio Associates. There are, of course, still important cost issues to be resolved but I am more than happy to talk to Patrick again to see what options might still be available and to see if any headway can be made regarding the Radio Station broadcasting at this year's show.
I will keep you posted.
Kind regards,
Martin Oliver"

I certainly hope that Steam Fair FM will be saved, I even have a station in my landie permanently tuned to it. Funny though, it only works in the week folowing the late August Bank Holiday!

There should be a special steam fair radio station that we can tune into all year round!
Many years ago, a work mate and I were discussing what radio stations we would listen to. My mate said he listened to radio 4, then he said to me, I know what station you listen to, steam FM! He was only joking, but came very, very close to the truth!

Good news!! STEAM FAIR FM REINSTATED FOR 2015 - UPDATE FROM MARTIN OLIVER
Following further discussions with Patrick Heeley of Event Radio Associates I am pleased to report that it has been possible to reinstate Steam Fair FM for the 2015 show. I would like to thank the National Traction Engine Trust who have, along with Great Dorset Steam Fair Ltd, agreed to meet the extra costs, each funding 50% of the shortfall. Both Patrick and me are over the moon that the NTET have come on board as an official partner. All parties are delighted that the radio station will once again be broadcasting at the GDSF and I am sure this will please everyone who enjoys listening to Steam Fair FM each year. We look forward to hearing the first broadcast on Saturday 29th August in readiness for the 2015 show!

Tuned into steamfair FM at midnight. Listened for the first hour.
Tuned in at the moment. I have just heard the "weather word". The word is, the weather during show week, will be dry with sunny spells.
